Sky Sports understands that Marseilles are in talks with Celtic over a £20m bid for Moussa Dembele!
They could at least have put a reasonable price in the story that they understand.
Apparently a glamour friendly at Ibrox prompted someone from Marseilles to drop in on Celtic and offer £20m for a striker who will leave in the future for at least £30m.
Although he is clearly French the Celtic striker has no interest in joining the club that finished fifth in last season’s Lique 1.
With a manager that he believes in and the group phase of the Champions League two rounds away Dembele has everything that he needs at this stage in his career.
England will almost certainly be the next step in his career, he left France at the age of 16 for Fulham with a clear career path in mind as well as financial goals. If he was thinking of quitting the hoops his mate Olivier Ntcham wouldn’t have signed from Manchester City.
In the current climate you don’t get much of a striker for £20m, Celtic, Dembele and Marseilles know that, even Sky Sports understands it as well.
With Marseilles preparing for their Europa League clash with Oostende this week they can look but not touch Dembele as they enjoy their Thursday night’s in the shadow of Paris St Germain and Monaco.
