Stan Collymore tweeted more than the standard well done/superb/delighted after Celtic’s 3-0 win over Anderlecht.
The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker spent almost all of his playing days in England but is able to take a view of the game outside of the self obsessed EPL.
Fantastic win. A club who’s European heritage demands standards that most can only attain through money.

Celtic Park on Champions League nights is a special place as dozens of leading figures in the game have acknowledged.
Collymore has experienced that a few times as a pundit but knows that football is about more than budgets- there is still some glory to be had in the sport.
With back-to-back games coming up against Bayern Munich Brendan Rodgers’ side will be on centre-stage of the European game throughout October.
The hoops head to the German city in three weeks time with their confidence restored and knowing that barring a complete disaster they’ll be playing in Europe beyond Christmas with an outside chance that it could be in the Champions League.
