Celtic have been linked with a move for Filip Benkovic.
According to a report in The Sun the Dinamo Zagreb defender was watched by Celtic scouts as he scored in the 2-2 draw with Hadjuk Split at the weekend.
Celtic scouts watch dozens of matches every weekend but there can be little doubt that bringing in a new central defender is a January priority for Brendan Rodgers.
Injuries to Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic have dogged the season to date with a move for Rivaldo Coetzee falling through in August when the player failed a medical.
Benkovic replaced Simunovic when he moved to Celtic in 2015 and was rated at £17m last January when the hoops first made an enquiry.
With no sign of an English club prepared to meet that valuation Dinamo will have to significantly revalue the player.
Benkovic signed a five year contract with Dinamo in January and is a current Croatian u-21 internationalist.
